Ash Coffee Bar Stool by Jonathan

Jonathan’s final piece for the 12-week furniture making course was inspired by a stool design made by Dan Williams 20 years ago.

Jonathan said “There were several revisions for the stool, notably the size and shape of the seat. The seat was made from six steam bent panels joined together using a coopering technique where the face edges of individual panels have been planed to specific angles needed to create the effect of a sculpted seat. The legs were tapered and given a gentle curve to create a mix of stability and visual appeal plus a slight forward tilt which added comfort”

This chair, made out of Ash, is extremely comfortable and ideal for use under a coffee bar.
