All potential students for the 12 week Furniture Making courses are asked to send a simple CV before attending an interview, when you will be taken on a tour of the Academy. Your visit gives you the opportunity to see the workshops and what work is being produced, in addition to meeting students on courses and seeing the accommodation. You will then discuss why you want to join the course, what you hope to achieve on it and what you hope to do with your skills at the end of the course. You have the opportunity to ask about any aspect of joining the Academy.
All potential students for the 12 week Furniture Making courses are asked to send a simple cv before attending an interview
The process is very much the same for the 12 week Advanced Furniture Making course, however, we ask that applicants have attained the required standard. This might be through attending the first 12 week course, the 40 week boat building course or have other similar experience.
The interview process is constructed to give you a feel for the work and life of the Academy, so that you can make an informed decision about whether the intensive and highly practical training is appropriate for you
Your visit will last between 1-2 hours. If you are a suitable candidate the Director will offer you a place and give you an application form at the end of your interview (application forms for longer courses are not available online).
Please telephone us on 01297 445545 or email email@example.com to make an appointment for interview.
If people are unable to visit, we will conduct a telephone/Skype interview at a mutually agreed time. If the interview is satisfactory you will be offered a place on the course and sent a booking form.
